We will see the highlights on the way to the Sistine Chapel, passing the galleries of ancient statues, tapestries, maps and much more. In the Sistine Chapel we will admire the magnificent frescoes by Michelangelo and other renaissance artists. It is here that the Pope is elected during the Conclave. Finally we will enter St Peter's Basilica, built over the tomb of the Apostle Peter. Among the wonders to be found are the exquisite Pietà carved by Michelangelo, and the Baroque splendour of Bernini's altar canopy. The huge dome designed by Michelangelo crowns this monumental basilica.
We will finish the tour in St Peter's Square, where the Pope gives the blessing at noon on Sundays.
